A Milford Community School Use Program
Sponsored by the Milford community use program and the Milford cultural council, which is funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council
NEACCA Chorus Festival
The New England Area Community Chorus Association was inspired by a local chorus director who had a vision. That vision led to the formation of the NEACCA in 2008. In June of 2010 the members of five New England community choirs, over 200 voices, and five directors, representing over forty cities and towns in central Massachusetts combined to present the largest recorded Community Chorus Concert & Festival in New England!
Each chorus presented their own selections in the first half of the program. During the second half the choruses joined to present five selections chosen by the Directors. The songs presented by the combined choruses were – River Song, Hope for Resolution, It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got that Swing, Choose Something Like a Star, and He’s Got the Whole World. The program was challenging and rewarding!
The Greater Milford Community Chorus is a member of the NEACCA and had the privilege of performing in the first concert. It was a terrific experience for our chorus and we look forward to performing with the NEACCA for years to come. The great song selections, the excitement of performing in such a large group, and the many new friends we made continue to inspire us!
If you would like more information regarding membership in the NEACCA please contact Mike Scully, Director, at mscully@neacca.org.
